Meadow Ridge Events in Windsor, Ohio was the setting for the July 28 wedding and reception of Kaytee Christine Candela and Anthony John Shimek. Judge Albert Camplese performed the 3:30 p.m. ceremony.
Parents of the couple are James and Christine Candela, and Robert and Cindy Shimek, all of Ashtabula.
Seve Candela handed his sister her bouquet as she entered the outdoor ceremony site. Buddy Candela played guitar as his sister walked down the aisle. The bride wore a timeless and elegant white lace gown with an open back.
Her Maid of Honor was Alexandra Camplese. Bridesmaids were Zoey Campbell, Sharisse Hunt, and Delaney Brown, all friends of the bride.
Flower Girls were Abigail Slebodnick, niece of the groom; and Brooklyn, a family friend of the bride. Ring Bearer was Cameron, a family friend of the bride.
Robert Shimek Jr., brother of the groom, was Best Man. Groomsmen were Rolland Good, William Taggart, and Anthony DeGeorge, all friends of the groom.
Kaytee graduated from Lakeside High School in 2014. She is a Kindergarten teacher in Fredericksburg, Virginia after earning a Bachelors of Arts degree in Early Childhood and Special Education from Thiel College in May of this year.
Anthony also graduated in 2014 from Lakeside High School and is in the U.S. Marine Corps as a military police officer in Quantico, Virginia.
Grandparents of the bride are Steve and Frances Candela and the late Louis and Lucille Penna. Grandparents of the groom are Bob and Sheila Hill and Thomas and Linda Shimek.
The couple reside in Stafford, Virginia.
